Verbier is accessible by various modes of transportation. If you’re travelling by air, the closest major airport is Geneva International Airport (GVA), approximately 2 hours away by car or train. You can also fly to Zurich Airport (ZRH) or Milan Malpensa Airport (MXP), both about 3-4 hours away by car. To plan your route from the airport, please visit https://www.sbb.ch/ for trains from Geneva, Zurich, or Milan to Martigny. From Martigny, you can catch a regional train to Le Châble, the nearest train station to Verbier. From Le Châble, take the gondola or a bus up to Verbier.
Our main hub and Festival Welcome Desk for 2024 where you can collect festival bracelets for access to the festival and ask any questions will be at Mountain Air, next to Medran.
The opening hours for the Welcome Desk will be:
Friday Aug 9th 16:00h - 20:00h
Saturday Aug 10th 7:30h - 17:30h
Sunday Aug 11th 7:30h - 17:30h
Please allow plenty of time to collect your wristband before your first class. From Mountain Air, you should allow 20 minutes to get to Ruinettes and the Virya Stage (Mouton Noir Terrace). The Inspire Shala at La Chaux is another telecabine ride (10 minutes), or a 30 minute walk from there.
The specific location for outdoor activities will be noted on the Program.
This year, the festival will take place at two venues: the traditional Mouton Noir deck, now renamed as the VIRYA+ Energy Shala, and a new venue at La Chaux, situated at 2200 meters with breathtaking mountain and glacier views.
To reach the Inspire Shala at La Chaux, you have two options: either take two gondolas (first from Médran to Ruinette, then the La Chaux Express) or take the first gondola to Ruinette and continue on a scenic trail by bike, e-bike or on foot (a 30-minute walk or a 10-minute bike ride) to La Chaux.
Remember to allow enough time to move between venues if there is a particular session you want to attend.
The pass to access the resort of Verbier is not included in the festival ticket.
You will have to arrange your own lift pass when you collect your festival wristbands, or beforehand on the following link:
https://verbier4vallees.ch/en/online-shop/tickets
If you are staying in a hotel, or an airbnb, the Tourism Ofiice grants you a VIP Pass that gives you free access to Ruinettes (VIRYA ENERGY SHALA).
